
FEASSSA Games: All-Kenyan affair in girls’ volleyball as Cheptil fly the flag in boys’ Semis

The 2025 FEASSSA Games girls’ volleyball competition has turned into an all-Kenyan affair after four Kenyan schools stormed into the semi-finals, setting up mouthwatering local derbies in Kakamega.
Defending champions Kesogon Girls will take on Nairobi’s Soweto, while national champions Kwanthanze face fellow Kenyans Bishop Sulumeti in what promises to be a clash of giants.
The matchups guarantee Kenya’s dominance in the girls’ category, with the trophy destined to remain in Kenyan hands for yet another year.
Kesogon, who have looked formidable throughout the group stages, topped Pool B, edging out Bishop Sulumeti who also progressed strongly. Soweto finished second in Pool A behind Kwanthanze, ensuring Kenya claimed three out of the four semifinal slots.
In the boys’ category, the road has been tougher for Kenyan sides, with only national champions Cheptil making it to the last four. Cheptil, who topped Pool B after six days of action, will face St. Luc in a high-stakes semifinal.
The other last-four tie will see Uganda’s Bukedea, who dominated Pool A, lock horns with compatriots Namugongo in a Ugandan derby.
